The world of gaming is a world filled with creativity, and gamers have long been a part of it, either as customers who enjoy the gameplay or as "participants" who fill that world with their own creations. Evidence of this can be seen in simulation games such as SimCity and (especially) Minecraft, where many players have created various buildings with extraordinary detail and creativity. Apart from that, there are almost countless communities of modders who develop various unique mods for their games. Well, apparently Team Dakota, with the support of Microsoft, recognizes the role of gamers in the world of gaming and encourages us to be even more creative through its newest game, Project Spark.
Project Spark is a game creation platform with a gameplay engine that allows players to create various types of games and worlds, share designs with other players and play these game designs. Yep, in short, Project Spark is a game for making games!! Don't worry, gadget friends won't have to worry about programming or confusing technical things. Gadget friends simply let your imagination take action and utilize the game system and features to design the game world that you want, fill it with various kinds of content and details, then determine the gameplay system and the rules for designing the game. Maybe in practice your efforts to make a game will not be that easy or simple, but Team Dakota designed Project Spark with an interface and game parameters that are relatively easy to understand, so players can learn to use its various features quickly.
In Project Spark, the first step in creating a game is to create the physical form of the game world that your gadget wants. Gadget friends can choose the type of terrain they want to use, from hills, valleys, to mountains, which will initially be formed randomly. After that, gadget friends can choose the type of terrain or plain with the desired climate, such as snowy plains, sub-tropical forests, or barren plains. After determining the basics of the game world, gadget friends can of course adjust the shape of the world in more detail, such as digging a cave in a mountain, creating a lake, changing the texture of a cliff, and adding trees or bushes.
The next step is to choose the character who will be the protagonist. Project Spark provides a wide selection of characters that are quite unique and varied, ranging from standard humans, Goblins, and (reportedly) even a Yeti!! Of course, the appearance of the characters here can also be changed according to taste through various customization options which are also very varied. After character selection, players must determine the type of game that the newly created world supports, or in other words, gadget friends must determine the genre of the game you created. Your choice here will of course determine the style and course of the game, like games with different genres in the gaming industry.
