In The Sims 3 Ambition expansion, players can make their sims have new jobs, namely as ghost catchers and entrepreneurs. They can sell the ghosts they catch to get simeleons (currency in The Sims game). They can also write books to sell via their laptops. Another job is being a fashion designer. Also in this expansion, players can create/add tattoos to their sim's body when creating their sim in the 'create-a-sim' section. Players can also make their sims offer other sims to have their bodies tattooed. In this expansion, sims can also wash their clothes using a washing machine and much more.

In The Sims 3 Late Night expansion, players can make their sim a famous celebrity. When they become famous celebrities, all their activities can be immortalized by paparazzi when they are doing activities outside the home. Sims who become celebrities will also be asked for autographs and take photos together when outside the house. Sims can also form their own band and can perform at parties or in parks in the city.

In The Sims 3 World Adventure expansion, sims can travel to 3 countries, namely Egypt, France and China. Each country has unique items that are not sold in their hometown. They can also hunt for treasure. In Egypt, they can buy typical Egyptian incense with an ankh-shaped holder. They can also buy a basin containing a snake which they can play using a flute to summon the snake. In France, they can buy nectar to consume or buy nectar-making equipment so they can use it when they return home. In China, they can buy firecrackers.

The Sims 3 Supernatural expansion is the newest expansion which just came out on September 4th. In accordance with its theme, this game provides various fantasy creatures such as witches, vampires, zombies, werewolves and fairies. Sims who become witches can make various kinds of potions, ride broomsticks, and even duel with other witches.

Sims who become vampires can suck blood from other sims, but they are not resistant to sunlight. Sims who become fairies, they will have wings, they can reduce their body size because they have a mini-sized fairy house. By reducing their body size, they can also enter the toilet to repair a broken toilet by entering it or a broken sink. They can also carry out various pranks such as tickling their friends or sprinkling fairy dust that can harm or bring good luck to their friends.

Meanwhile, sims who become werewolves will change on the night of the full moon. They can return to being normal sims by drinking a potion made by a witch.
