The M2 Note, a worthy successor to the M1 Note launched at the end of last year, is a mid-range offering, while Meizu's MX5 is the company's new flagship offering. As a result, the company has begun sending out invitations to a new event on July 29, where Meizu plans to announce the Meizu M2 smartphone. Meizu has crammed a Nokia 1110 phone inside, which is quite intriguing.
According to previous leaks and rumors, the Meizu M2 will have a 5-inch (probably 720p) display and 2GB of RAM. A 64-bit octa-core MT6753 processor is expected to power this smartphone. It will run Android Lollipop, which will come pre-installed, as well as Meizu's Flyme UI, which will be available on top of Google's operating system. According to several leaks, it will have a 13-megapixel camera, and it appears that Meizu will use a Sony IMX214 sensor in this device. The Meizu M2 will be available in two storage capacities: 8GB and 16GB. The 8GB variant costs 499 Yuan ($80), while the 16GB variant costs 699 Yuan ($113), making it a very affordable handset.
The Meizu M2's certification process in China does not reveal all of the device's specifications; however, it does suggest that the Meizu M2 will offer 4G LTE (both FDD-LTE and TD-LTE) connectivity. The Meizu M2 will have a physical home button beneath the screen, similar to the tiny M2 Note. The power/lock button is located on the right side of the phone, while the volume rocker is located on the left.
